Apple is all about Earth Day, the company yesterday posted a commercial which explains how its data centers are running 100 percent on renewable energy. In its Earth Day movement vibe, the Cupertino firm this morning released another advertisement on its YouTube channel, this time promoting recycling.
Hosting the ad are Siri and Liam, the 25-second video has Siri conversing with the Liam, asking him what he’s doing for Earth Day. Siri suggests organic smoothies when she then realizes she is going to be torn into bits. (What a natural conversation).
You can watch the video embedded right below.
The video concludes by inviting customers to “ask Siri about Liam”. When asked, Siri explains a quirky history on Liam accompanied with a link to Apple’s webpage about recycling.
Announced at Apple’s “Loop you In” event where the iPhone SE was unveiled, Liam is a robot designed and created by Apple that can disassemble iPhones and extract recyclable materials, including gold and copper from the camera, silver and platinum from the logic board, and cobalt and lithium from the battery.
