If you’re into music and like working out, you’ve probably heard of Jaybird. Jaybird is a company that specializes in athletic accessories and they done pretty well these past few years in the athletic wireless earbud space. Recently, Logitech decided to buy Jaybird for 50 million USD!  This is a big deal and we cant wait to see what Logitech will do with Jaybird in the (hopefully) near future.

Logitech definitely knows what they’re doing since they have a potential for an extra $45 million dollars if the company meets their target growth. Now the reasoning behind Logitech buying Jaybird was due to Logitech wanting to enhance Jaybird’s audio offerings, especially with their well known wireless earbuds, the X2’s.

“We see it all around us everyday – people love to listen to music everywhere and sometimes in places where listening out loud would just not work. Jaybird hit on a great idea of making products for people actively engaged in sports and who wanted music to power their passion for their sport. With the right product (and Jaybird makes them), you can now pursue your sport with your music. It’s a potent combination.”

As for Jaybird, Logitech says it will continue to “feed the Jaybird brand”. This means that Jaybird product’s will hopefully continue to carry the Jaybird name and nothing should change branding wise. Overall we are definitely excited to see what the two have to offer in the near future, and can’t wait to see what this big purchase will bring us!
