Virtual reality has become a big thing in the world of technology. Virtual reality allows a person to experience something without actually being in that place or time. In order to do this, companies such as Oculus and HTC have created some of the most popular headsets and it is only very recently that they have released them to the public.

Despite the fact that the headsets may be quite expensive, some may find that these are quite amazing due to the fact that they are new to the technology community and are different to anything anyone has seen. You can experience a game or even a roller coaster using them. These VR headsets allow you to experience everything without you having to actually be there. You will feel like you are in the place at that time. But just the headset is not enough though so you cannot determine how much you will have to spend.

The Oculus Rift comes in at around $600. After two development kits, the Oculus Rift is ready with their consumer version. They have used displays which do not affect the eyes that much, since normally having a display so close to your eyes is not the best thing and could lead to other bad things. The Rift itself is quite comfortable which allows usage for quite some time without interruptions. All of the specs may be good but the Oculus Rift requires you to purchase a PC that can handle the Oculus Rift, if you do not have one already. It will cost around $1000 for the PC itself,  so if you do not have a PC already, then you will have to buy one which will come to around $1600. Even then, there are many other accessories that you can purchase to go with the headset.

The HTC Vive comes in at around $800. Unlike the Oculus Rift, the HTC Vive comes with a camera on the front to blend real world features into VR to prevent any safety issues. The Vive is also quite comfortable and quite nice to use for some time. Although it comes it at a higher price compared to the Oculus Rift, it also requires a computer of equivalent specs as the Oculus Rift which will still cost your around $1000. This will cost you around $1800 which is much more than the Oculus Rift.

If you are willing to pay the money, either headset is worth the deal. If this is too much for you, then there are many devices out there such as the Google Cardboard, Samsung Gear VR and many more devices that are much cheaper. Whatever VR headset you buy, you will enjoy using it.
