Earlier this year at Mobile World Congress, we found ourselves seeing something new and innovative from the company itself, a 2 in 1 Windows 10 laptop and tablet. We have not yet seen a Windows computer from Huawei, but at MWC we saw the new Huawei MateBook from Huawei. It is an amazingly sleek and good looking 2 in 1, with a slim design, similar to many slim laptops such as the MacBook. We had learnt a lot about the Huawei MateBook, but had no clue as to when they would release it and how much it costs in the US.

Starting at a decent price of $699 in the US, the MateBook will get you some good specs for such a cheap price with an Intel Core m3 processor, 4GB of RAM and also 128GB of storage. This may not be ideal for many people, but this is just the starting configuration as it can be customized to your liking. The price of the MateBook goes up to around $1,599, and the price will change depending on the specifications that you want with the MateBook. The maximum specifications is with a Intel Core m7, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. With the MateBook, it competes directly with other laptops such as Apple’s 12 inch MacBook or even Asus’ ZenBook 3, all looking at a slim design over specifications.

The design for the MateBook is quite sleek, with a metal design, and comes in two different colors (grey or gold). It sports a 12 inch 2560 x 1440 pixel display, which comes along nicely with the slim bezels on the laptop itself. The MateBook is really thin, coming in at just 6.9mm, yet it still packs a 9 hour battery life within it. There are a few accessories available for the MateBook, that may or may not be worth getting, depending on your uses for the MateBook. These include the MatePen at $59, for drawing, scribbling or making notes, an attachable keyboard at $129 for easy typing on the go, and also the MateDock at $89.

If you are willing to buy such a 2 in 1, then the MateBook launches in the US on July 11, but also, there is an option to pre order from Microsoft online or even in store, to make sure you get your MateBook as quick as possible, with your favorite configuration. Will you be getting one?
